Seffa Medfouna from Meat Treat.

Seffa Medfouna is a very famous moroccan dome dish of broken vermicelli which has hidden beef/chicken slices in it. Fay Barretto of Meat Treat dropped off a generous portion of Seffa Medfouna the other night. The quantity was enough to fill two really hungry and aggressive foodies (Fortunately, It was just me!. The package had a moroccan beet salad as well.

The dish was very rich and irresistible. The vermicelli was well balanced with perfect amounts of raisins, fried almonds, butter and sugar. The beef was tasty but a bit too hard to bite into - Could be partially coz of the unsympathetic cold weather.

The packaging ruined the aesthetic beauty of the dish, but the flavour compensated for what it lacked on looks.

Overall, a fulfilling comfort food.
Damage on Wallet: 700 INR.

Ps: The Meat Treat is organising THE ANNUAL MEAT EATER TASTING PARTYon 13th of December at D3, White Oak, D'costa Layout, 1st Cross, Cooke Town, Bangalore.

A late lunch at Bistro Claytopia

Bistro Claytopia is an American Cafe located right at the tail end of 80 Ft Road, Koramangala. They have an excellent open space for outdoor dining as well as an indoor restaurant. The decor is very artistic and warm which will remind you of the good old french bed & breakfasts.

We started off with portions of non-veg Tukpa (Tibetan Noodle Soup) and a plate of Crispy fried chicken.

We were craving for more as soon as we finished our rounds of these wonderfully delicious starters. We chose Pasta Bolognese and Spaghetti for the main course.

The meals were perfectly cooked and tasted great. We ordered Blueberry Cheesecake for dessert.

Apart from these, they have a wide variety of shakes, short-eats and meals.

Overall Rating 8.5/10

An Early Breakfast at The Hole in the Wall

Water Melon Juice

Toasts with Butter

The 9 Yards Breakfast

 Waffles with Caramelized Banana

A lot of hype and very little substance. That's Hole in the Wall. Though they have a wide range of variety in their menu, the food wasn't that great. I would prefer Cafe Terra over HITW any day. A breakfast for two will cost you around INR 800/- . Sundays are usually crowded and your waiting time can go up to 30 minutes for a table.

Location: 60 Ft Road, Kormangala, Bangalore.

Fisherman's Wharf - The Seafood Paradise

Fisherman's Wharf is a multi-cuisine goan restuarant located near Bellandur in Bangalore.

The ambience boasts traditional goan architecture with furnishing. lighting and water works. Live music gives you a warm welcome to the dimly lit, cozy diners. There is an open bar along with numerous dining spaces which you can chose to select.

I chose to have the Seafood Platter (INR 2800). You will be introduced to a variety of assorted seafood, and you can instruct the chef on your cuisine preference.

The platter will be distributed and served as a 7 course meal.

(Curry Fish will be served with a decent Rice portion)

The food was awesome. Crabs and Lobsters were perfectly cooked. Curry fish was tasty. Calamari rings were a bit too soggy and the grills were hot and spicy.

For dessert, I ordered a Blueberry Cheesecake which, indeed, was a treat-for-your-mouth.

Though a little on the pricey side, I would highly recommend Fisherman's Wharf for its warm ambience, tasty seafood and the whole dining experience.

South Indian Treat at Adyar Anandha Bhavan.

I am not a fan of South Indian cuisine especially the ones from Tamil Nadu. Certain of their flavors wont agree with me and I am yet to figure out that particular flavor. So to be on the safer side, I tend to avoid Tamil cuisines whenever possible.

Last week I went with a friend to the famous South Indian chain, Adyar Anandha Bhavan. Initially I was a little hesitant to order for myself as the memories of an unpleasant flavor experience came floating up, when I saw the range of curries on display.

But I went against what my instinct had suggested and ordered a plate of Chapattis and Kurma, while my friend opted to have the Veg Thali (Meals on a Plate).

Chappatti- Kurma , Parathas- Kurma

Veg Thali (Before & After)

I was surprised at the quality of the food I had. The Chappattis (INR 45) were soft and hot and it went well with the delicious Vegetable Kurma.

I quickly finished my round and chose Parathas, (INR 45) over Chappattis for the second, with a kurma variant. And Brilliant it was.

Adyar Anandha Bhavan might not be the best of its kind, but a must-visit for those who are longing for a south indian treat.
