An Early Breakfast at The Hole in the Wall

Water Melon Juice

Toasts with Butter

The 9 Yards Breakfast

 Waffles with Caramelized Banana

A lot of hype and very little substance. That's Hole in the Wall. Though they have a wide range of variety in their menu, the food wasn't that great. I would prefer Cafe Terra over HITW any day. A breakfast for two will cost you around INR 800/- . Sundays are usually crowded and your waiting time can go up to 30 minutes for a table.

Fisherman's Wharf - The Seafood Paradise

Fisherman's Wharf is a multi-cuisine goan restuarant located near Bellandur in Bangalore.

The ambience boasts traditional goan architecture with furnishing. lighting and water works. Live music gives you a warm welcome to the dimly lit, cozy diners. There is an open bar along with numerous dining spaces which you can chose to select.

I chose to have the Seafood Platter (INR 2800). You will be introduced to a variety of assorted seafood, and you can instruct the chef on your cuisine preference.

The platter will be distributed and served as a 7 course meal.

(Curry Fish will be served with a decent Rice portion)

The food was awesome. Crabs and Lobsters were perfectly cooked. Curry fish was tasty. Calamari rings were a bit too soggy and the grills were hot and spicy.

For dessert, I ordered a Blueberry Cheesecake which, indeed, was a treat-for-your-mouth.

Though a little on the pricey side, I would highly recommend Fisherman's Wharf for its warm ambience, tasty seafood and the whole dining experience.

Happy Sunday!

Bangkok's China Town

Our last night in Bangkok. I had covered pretty much everything I had in my custom-made itinerary except a visit to China Town, one among the busiest streets of Bangkok. We hired a Tuk-Tuk which took us to end of the main Chinatown street. The place was crowded with pedestrians, vehicles, street hawkers and shop owners. It was slightly raining, but it didn't affect the daily functioning of these people at all. We stopped at a Pa Tong Go Shop for a quick bite.

Pa Tong Go is a famous Thai Dessert which is basically grilled rice buns with hot coconut, chocolate or strawberry syrup.

Definitely not a waste of TBH 10.

We were pretty hungry, so was eager to find a decent yet new taste. We entered an alley, where we saw this beautiful little lady selling Pork Rice (TBH 40).

Boiled white rice topped with salted and roasted pork slices, egg and a sweet gravy. That was brilliant. We quickly cleaned our plates and went for a second round.

We were about to head back, when we saw this beauty! Grilled Octopus. We were given a 4-5 pieces in a plastic bag, seasoned with a light chili sauce. It was salty, spicy and delicious.

Its a Wonderful Morning!

Hot and Crispy!

South Indian Treat at Adyar Anandha Bhavan.

I am not a fan of South Indian cuisine especially the ones from Tamil Nadu. Certain of their flavors wont agree with me and I am yet to figure out that particular flavor. So to be on the safer side, I tend to avoid Tamil cuisines whenever possible.

Last week I went with a friend to the famous South Indian chain, Adyar Anandha Bhavan. Initially I was a little hesitant to order for myself as the memories of an unpleasant flavor experience came floating up, when I saw the range of curries on display.

But I went against what my instinct had suggested and ordered a plate of Chapattis and Kurma, while my friend opted to have the Veg Thali (Meals on a Plate).

Chappatti- Kurma , Parathas- Kurma

Veg Thali (Before & After)

I was surprised at the quality of the food I had. The Chappattis (INR 45) were soft and hot and it went well with the delicious Vegetable Kurma.

I quickly finished my round and chose Parathas, (INR 45) over Chappattis for the second, with a kurma variant. And Brilliant it was.

Adyar Anandha Bhavan might not be the best of its kind, but a must-visit for those who are longing for a south indian treat.

Located at BDA Complex, HSR Layout, Bangalore.

The Food Court of Soul Space Spirit

Soul Space Spirit Mall (Bellandur Central) is a busy mall located rather inconveniently under the Bellandur Outerring road fly-over - Bangalore.

Heard about the new food court which just opened on its 5th floor and went there sunday noon to give it a try.

There weren't many vendors and so the choices were limited. I saw a couple of pizza and ice cream joints and also a very limited line of fast food counters. Kolkatta Express, China Town, Juice Shop, Hot Peel, Namma Sagar and a Momo Station were open at the time.

I chose to try the Chinese and Bengali stations. Ordered a Chilli Garlic Chicken Noodles and a Chilli Fish Gravy from China Town and a Chicken Lachha Roll along with a portion of Chicken Biriyani from Kolkatta Express.

The Chinese food was mediocre with no big letdowns or happy surprises,  So was the Biriyani from Kolkatta Express. But the Lachha Roll was brilliant. It was spicy, well packed and delicious.
